About

Randall J Brezski is the founder of mAbEdge, a biotechnology consulting company that for over three years has been focused on helping early stage biotechnology companies navigate the challenges associated with the full development plan for antibody-based biologics from early discovery through nominating a candidate for clinical development.

Randall J Brezski Biography

I have a PhD in Immunology and over the past 15 years I have been working in antibody discovery and engineering with a focus on engineering antibodies to alter immune effector functions. My PhD was in B cell biology, particularly B cell antigen receptor structure and function, so overall, I have nearly 25 years of domain experience in B cells and antibodies. I have more recently taken an interest in computational approaches to antibody engineering and have been pursing further education in computational molecular science at the University of California, Berkeley. Most of my experience is in cancer immunology, autoimmunity, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine with a particular focus on engineering antibodies to recruit immune effector functions to eliminate cancer cells as well as next generation agonists.

Prior to becoming a consultant, I ran an Fc engineering group at Janssen and later ran an in vivo antibody discovery lab at Genentech where my group led the antibody discovery efforts across diverse therapeutic areas including cancer immunology, ocular and metabolic diseases, neuroscience, and immune disorders. At Genentech, I also served as the Antibody Engineering Department representative for Developability / Molecular Assessment for over 2 years. I currently serve as Director of Antibody Business Intelligence and Engagement at The Antibody Society.
